My other project log was getting too big, needed to create another one. I posted about the new door handles i was putting in, i finished the passenger side on saturday, it was a breeze.
But i started out the day with uprading some interior, such as the steering wheel and HVAC controls.
Didnt know that the old clockspring would work so i got the new one with it.
theres the dash piece and controls, always liked the second gen better
Got it mounted up after drilling afew holes. everything need to be lined up properly, also will redo alot of the dash to meet up with it.
So there it is. Also have a second gen console i may make use of.
Heres the driver side done, i didnt go into alot of detail before but i got more pics this time.
Heres where the rod goes through now, you can see where i bent the metal for clearance
Made a template from the driverside so i could accurately make the holes for the passenger
This is the difference in length of the original and modded rods
measured and mark where to bend and cut

Gotta drop it down from the top of the door. pulled up the weather stripping.
iff you can see the red clip, thats where the rod goes into the latch end
This is the handle end, actually pulled the clip from the neon door, drilled the hole slightly. works perfect
Got the rod in, which is a pain.
On the other end as well.
Hadnt bend the metal at this point, and forgot the after picture.
This was the real pain, the door panel. I forgot to take progress pics but here after it was cut and mounted.
Not happy with it at all but was never planning to keep it stock.
so i need to put in the console, and then start redesigning the door panels and dash to fit the new parts. Fun will be had.
IT DOESNT HAVE TO MAKE SENSE. IT JUST HAS TO BE LOUD.

looking good man. If you got time you should show up at the shop sat or friday. we will be out there both day.
